351 is a thriving air cadet squadron based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. We are open to anyone aged 12 and in school year 8 up to aged 20. We expect a lot from our cadets – its a serious commitment. But once you’ve experienced it we know you wouldn’t have it any other way!

We provide training, opportunities & adventures for young people. Being part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets doesn’t just mean wearing a uniform. We have many different things to offer you; some are listed below. #WhatWeDo is not constrained to this list – we have that many different opportunities waiting for you we can’t write them all down!


Academic Studies

Our training provide qualifications that will set you apart from the crowd when yo head to university or begin your chosen career. 

Take to the skies

Flying is central to our purpose and your cadet experience. We provide loads of opportunities to soar above the clouds; be it flying a light aircraft, gliding, paragliding or parachuting. 

Parades & Drill

We enjoy showing off how disciplined & organised we are. Drill demonstrates individuals can remember instructions and carry them out accurately – as well as teamwork to display our high standards of dress and behaviour which we are renowned for. 

Trips & Camps

Our training provide qualifications that will set you apart from the crowd when yo head to university or begin your chosen career. 

Leadership Training

Everyone has leadership qualities within them. We provide training to bring out those qualities and develop you into a leader of tomorrow; a vital skill for later in life. 

Get out and about

Adventure Training is a big part of what we do; from abseiling to walking and we love it all! Plus we’re big supporters of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme; inviting all eligible cadets to enrol. 


Across a range of rifles, from training to national & international competitions, you can get hands-on and perfect your marksmanship.


Mixing work and play is at the heart of the Air Cadets. Getting stuck into sport is fun, and you’ll build friendships & learn to use your strengths to best effect in a team. 

First Aid

An essential skill we ensure all cadets have a qualification in. Nationally recognised by St John’s Ambulance. If called upon you could be the difference in a life or death situation.  .
